It would help if you buy the book first. You have to read it to understand, and its too involved to type it all out on a forum like this. There you will find all the info about starting, menu"s and recipes etc.The best advice on sane and sensible dieting .Worked well for myself and millions more You can buy used paperback or hardback’s on Amazon.com starting,at $4 plus.Take care. You’d probably be better off either buying the book or finding a website that will list the foods to enjoy/avoid(there are some really good FREE ones out there)…but here’s a brief description.
Phase 1 is no fruits or grains – meaning no bread, pasta, or anything really with sugar. You also need to eat lower fat versions of cheese and meat. Avoid low fat dressings because they have "good fats" in them and the low fat ones usually substitute fat with sugar. Phase one is a very long two weeks.
As you move into phase two you are supposed to gradually add in new foods. For instance your first day on P2 you might add an apple or a piece of whole grain bread. You need to just work with one food at a time because you need to monitor how it effects your blood sugar levels. Meaning if you eat one of these and you wind up getting too hungry, it is raising your blood sugar too high and you should avoid this food or try to eat it with more protein. The foods that you add in as you go should be whole grains (needs to be 100% whole grain – no enriched flour) and fruits. You gradually work up to three grains and three fruits a day.
You finish P2 when you have reached your goal weight. Then you switch to P3 which is basically maintaining you’re weight. You can be a little more liberal with yourself, but keep yourself in check if you start gaining weight again.
