I’ve been over weight my whole life. I am tired of being fat. I’m 227 lbs. That is the biggest I have ever been. I have a boyfriend that loves me know matter what but I see him looking away sometimes at other girls like a size 2. I wanna lose weight so I don’t feel so bad. I am 24 years old and I feel so out of shape and run down. Can anyone tell me what you have done to lose weight? What plans were you on? What kinds of foods did you eat? How much did you excise? How much wieght did you lose?

The only way to really loose weight is to eat right and exercise, but sometimes you think you’re doing enough and it turns out you’re wrong. This website is very good at helping you manage it all… AND… it’s only $9 a month. I have been consistently loosing 1-2lbs a month at a minimum, and it’s staying off.
Hard work is the only real way, don’t succumb to a stupid fad diet. If you don’t try MFD, try another management source like it, but MFD, in my opinion, is FANTASTIC! (and they’ll let you try it free for a week.)
Start slow, but you can do it!!! You gotta believe in yourself and stay committed and focused!!
Good Luck
i alternate 3 diets, one month at a time so that i don’t get bored with food
Atkins
south beach
weight watchers
you have to commit yourself to never eat junk food again, wage war against it, hate it
& a healthy exercise routine 3 days a week for 1 hour that gets you sweaty and worn out
I can totally relate sweetie…I’m 5′3 and at 198 now. When I first started dieting I was at 235…I joined Curves & started doing the carb diet…not insanley strict, but I did cut out ALL white bread, potatoes & pasta…I switched from regular coke – to diet…
Drink lots & lots & lots of water – it helps you feel full and you’ll eat less. Walk, walk, walk – but a cool time of the day…walking is simple, great exercise…
I wish you the best of luck sweetie…Marilyn
The Simple Solution: Eat Right And Exercise!!!!!!!!!

1. Remember you CAN loose weight on any diet that lowers your caloric intake. Whether it’s Weight Watchers or the Grapefruit Diet. The thing about it is once you return to eating normally — you gain more weight.
2. Look for low (not no) carb diets like South Beach, Low GI Diet, etc.
3. You HAVE to exercise at least 30 minutes daily. Doesn’t have to be all at one time. e.g. 3 — 10 minutes brisk walks count.
4. Go to a nutritionist that deals with why you are overeating in the first place. If they just want to push shakes, etc — go someplace else.
5. If you’ve done everything in your heart to loose — then consider gastric bypass or lap-band as a last resort. Know it’s a tool and if not followed properly you can gain weight back.

Good luck!
I have been thin all my life, but about 10 years ago, I gained 50 lbs in one summer by eating lots of Complex Carbs. (Breads, rice, grains, etc). This was BEFORE Aitken’s popularized his diet. I would say KEEP AWAY from these. Sure, have a LITTLE from time to time, DON’T load up on fattening foods, fried stuff, etc. and start excerising by walking. BUT…Stay away from Bread, pasta, potatoes, etc. That will REALLY work!!!
The best exercise is push aways. Push away from the dinner table. It took you 24 years to get where you are. Try not to reduce overnight.
Jared, the guy who does Subway commercials, really did loose a ton of weight by doing lots of walking and eating Subway turkey sandwiches.
When you eat, drink lots of water. It will help make you feel full, so you can slowly cut back on the amount you eat.
Try to cut carbs, like pasta, all bread, anything with white flour in it, SUGAR. Sugar is in Soda. Drink lots of water. And exercise, just speed walk for like 30-1hr like 3-5 times a week. This is really basic but if you do it you could lose like 5-10lbs in 1 week. Don’t exert your NRG…like running and stair machines. Use low weight high reps. If not you’ll just gain muscle and be bigger.
I go to Curves for their 3 times a week, 30 minute a day work out. I really like it because I am building muscle, which really does weigh more, but am losing inches. Try walking, too, everyday. Build up the distance and time little by little. Don’t go crazy and overdo it at first because you could hurt yourself.
What you also need to do is just eat healthy and balanced meals. Try to stay away from too much bread. Cut out yucky things like soda, fried food, fatty food and sugary foods. Just be conscious of what you eat, look at food labels. You also want to be sure that you drink lots of water. Also, when it comes to eating, make sure that you don’t eat after 8 pm. It’s hard at first, but I know you can do it.
I have no expirence with this kind of this what so ever but, I do know that you dont want to go paying for some food like Jenny whatever its just eating healthy and getting excirse.
I appreciate your honesty and courage. Please don’t confuse your problem with your boyfriends. Men look away at other women because they are taken by lust, not because their woman is not enough for them. You are more than enough for your man and losing weight will not likely be enough to cure his ills. But your health in another issue all together.
Creating healthy exercise, eating, and supplementation habits will undo what unhealthy habits have done to you. We are creatures of habit. By creating healthy habits, you can experience the satisfaction of enjoying your results without thinking about the action. Typically, it will take 21 days of persistent action to create a new habit.
By exercising 30 minutes every day, 6 days a week, by eating nutritious foods 5-6 times daily, once every 2-3 hrs, drinking 1oz. of water per lb. of bodyweight, and by taking a quality multivitamin (Iike Double X).
You can ensure that you will not regain the weight you’ve lost by creating exercise, healthy eating, and supplementation HABITS. When you make them a part of your lifestyle, you will keep the results, without thinking about it. Make living fit a part of your lifestyle that you do without thinking by creating habits.
Enjoy your results,
adamray
I have struggled with my weight since I can remember….and just recently started a new diet…everything in moderation..six small meals a day, and it seems to be working. When you go shopping buy healthy foods and lots of fruits and veggies. Surround yourself with good food and when you are hungry (or think you may be) drink a lot of water. Avoid soda and cake…buy the 100 calorie snack packs eat one after lunch and one after dinner before bed. It is working for me and I hope it works for you too. Good luck.
Don’t diet. If you yo-yo diet, you will gain more weight and it will become harder to take it off.
Eat things like:
Breakfast
Hard boiled egg and a greapefruit
Yogurt
Bran Cereal with Ski Milk
Make a fruit Smoothi
Lunch
Tuna wrap (made with low fat or fat free mayo)
veggies and dip
Salad with some grilled chicken
yogurt
Dinner
Chicken, Fish, Turkey
Veggies or Salad,
Have a snack of:
Triscuits, pretzels, a slice of cheese (once in a while), grapes, dry cereal
(watch your portions on the snacks)
Get out and walk and bike ride. Remember this is not temporary, it is a lifestyle change. It is ok to eat whatever you want once in a while. Just go back to healthy your next meal.
I’m sorry you feel unattractive. If you subscribe to Self magazine you can get great tips and use the Self Diet Club for free. It’s a nice program and there is support available. MyPyramid.gov also helps you learn how to maintain healthy eating. Stock up on fruits and veggies, drink lots of water, exercise 3-5 times a week and MOST IMPORTANT…like you for you because a good self-esteem will help you through your stages of weight loss. It’s not helpless sweetie, keep at it and you can do it!
About six years ago I went on the Atkins Diet and lost almost 100 pounds in about 8 months. I have maintained the weight loss and now can eat whatever I want. But I no longer want nearly as much and I feel so much better. I ate meat (any kind and any amount), eggs, hard cheese, celery, raw carrots, lettuce, hot dogs, bologna, NO SUGAR, and kept my carb count to 30 or less per day. I was never hungry. I made a skinny soup of any meat (I preferred pork steak) w/ tomato juice, celery, purple onions, sliced carrots and shredded cabbage. I added a lot of cayenne pepper because I loved it. I could not exercise because I have rheumatoid arthritis and degenerative joint disease. My doctor thought the Atkins Diet was less harmful for me than the excess weight. I wish you all the luck in the world and if you can exercise, you are young and this should help you tone your body as you lose.
walking helps walk not drive
Losing weight is very simple, just don’t let the fancy diet plans confuse you. A lot of people have a hard time with this one so I’m gonna spell it out for you: eat less, exercise more. Don’t pig out, but don’t starve yourself either. Go to any online calorie calculator and figure out how many calories a certain exercise will burn, and then count how many calories you eat in a day. You have to burn more calories than you eat, that’s all there is to it. Don’t make excuses and don’t act like you can’t do it, it’s not that hard (unless you have no discipline). If you WANT to lose weight then you’ll lose it, if you don’t then you won’t.
P.S. Stay away from sweets and fatty foods, try eating a few veggies and some whole grain bread, your boyfriend will love you for it.
simple solution get off the damn computer and go excersise
I’m not to sure about a diet plan.. but I got a personal trainer @ Bally’s for 3 months and I lost 32lbs. I worked out with him 2 times a week and and worked out by myself 2. He had me eating 2 hard boiled eggs and 2 oranges in the morning. Grilled chicken and salad for lunch and some sort of grilled meat and steamed veggies for dinner…. It totally worked out great.. granted I would definitaly cheat a bit on the weekends but you have to unless you want to completely fall off the wagon.. but one thing is for sure… NO FAST FOOD!… the preservatives and stuff in it is totally bad for you… but is you get bored you can always do healthy variations of the meals I mentioned above… And if you can’t do a trainer just remember to do cardio as well as strenght training… or else you’ll get flabby. plus having more muscle helps your metabolism speed up!… Anyways I’ll stop yapping.. But I wish you the very best luck!!!!!!
Elena- the first step is to make the committment and to know that it won’t be easy. The second is to realize that it will take some time. The most effective weight loss is that which is slow and steady. It’s more likely that you won’t gain the weight back. Also, I don’t recommend "diets". It’s much healthier to really make lifestyle changes that you can stick with. Diets begin and end. STart by making small changes and not trying to do too many things at once. This will only feel overwhelming and will discourage you. So, instead of trying to cut back on your food and increase your excercise all on the first day, try getting your eating under control before beginning intense exercise. Sure, it would be good to start doing some light walks, but you don’t have to run 3 miles the first week. Once you start exercising, you will crave more food, so I think it’s important to get your appetite under control first. Again, make small changes. Try cutting your portions back the first week. Then, try to cut out some of the unhealthy things you’re eating the next week. Just keep making small changes. That’s the most maneageable and most effective way to lose weight in my opinion. I know you’ve heard this before, but drink LOTS of water. AND, don’t worry about the scale so much at first- focus more on how you feel and how your clothes start to feel on you. This is far more important than your actual weight. It’s never too late to start. Make small changes and once you succeed at one, try another. Don’t get too discouraged if you fail every now and then- just try again. You have to decide that YOU are in control! Good luck.
I have started to walk in the park whenever possible. I go roller skating once a week. I try to watch what I eat- but remember DO NOT starve yourself. You body will readjust when you starve and store the food you do eat as fat. Drink lots of water! Switch to diet sodas and/or crystal light (or regular soda on a non regular basis). Basically, watch what you eat and get as active as possible. Good luck my dear.
I am also overweight and cant stand it. So far Ive lost about 10 pounds in the last couple of months. Im still over 200 pounds, but Im working on it. Ive been going to the gym monday through friday. I use the tredmil for about 30 min and I use all of the machines they have. I end up staying there for about an hour. As far as food, eat healthy and never miss a food group. Lots of veggies, chicken, turkey, seafood, fruit. This is a big change and a mere diet isnt going to work. They are too hard and once you stop you gain your weight back, and sometimes end up weighing more than when you started. Try to get your bread and stuff in wheat. It tastes good and has fiber and stuff in it. Soy milk is really good. I personally get the light vanilla flavor. Never eat fast food! And try to drink at least 8 eight ounce glasses of water every day. Go for 12 if you can. Water is wierd. Its like it flushes you out. It makes you feel good too.
If you decide to go to the gym I would suggest talking to a trainer. And maybe try seeing a nutritionist. At least that way you will have professional opinions.
My husband also looks at girls that are smaller and cuter than me and it drives me nuts. It makes me feel so bad about myself. But once you start exercising and eating better and start seeing results, you will feel better about your self and be more motivated to get to your goal.
You can do it! Dont give up! Its about time you feel good about yourself. Good luck!
Elena I can totally relate to your delima. I have come to believe that all diets work if you work them and not go back to your old way of eating. I have tried Diet Center, Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig and gained it all back plus some. Then I tried Atkins and lost steady but too restrictive and since Im diabetic my blood sugar dropped to low. The last book diet I tried that actually worked was called Sugar Busters. Its not as restrictive as Atkins or Southbeach. You might also try this website Im currently on called Sparkpeople.com. It has everything a dieter needs plus great support from many people in the different forums. So far I have lost 7 pounds since June.
DEAR ???
Solution to such problem is not as easy as we see in TV, news papers etc.
In fact, to reduce your weight is possible only & only by yourself and not by any one else in this whole universe; believe me.
What you have to do, which is quite hard, is to control your will power. (This statement you might have heard 100 times)
And when you can control your will power you can control any thing related to you. I know well its very difficult to do so. But there is no way out other than controling your own mind & heart. Here "control" means that you have to care for your diet and also up to some extent of excercise/work etc.
So you have to be strong enough to over come your diet weaknesses. You have to leave all sorts of oily foods. Eat more of greens and least of meat.
All I am saying that you know all these things and you know better what you have to do with such stuff (what to avoid and what not to avoid). But for reducing your weight you have to play with your mind and let yourself to control your body & soul not the opposit of all this.
I would never recommend you to go to any weight control school but will say again that please do every thing by yourself and schedule your diet, exercise, work habits, living habbits etc.
And all this requires stronger control of your brain upon your body. If I am wrong then do let me know.
There are some obvious things which may or may not apply to you but can result in quick weight loss if you can quit them; soda, sweets, most snack foods, eating after 8 p.m.
Otherwise, I had really good luck with the South Beach Diet. Go as close to zero-carb as possible. I lost 15 pounds in two weeks doing this:
Breakfast – 1 cup REAL oatmeal (w/cinnamon or syrup), glass of milk
Lunch – as big a salad as it takes to make you feel full
Dinner – this is the tricky one because, unlike the other two meals, you have more time to eat so that’s what you tend to do. But I had a piece of fish, frozen veggies, maybe a thing of yogurt or something for dessert.
The key principle to the SBD is that it’s OK to eat for pleasure and to fill up, so long as you fill up on the right things. Look at my examples above; I CHALLENGE you to get fat on salads and veggies.
As far as exercise, at that time I was running my dog 2 miles a day three or four days a week. If you’re that overweight, you’ll want to start walking to reduce stress on your joints, at least until you get to within range of where you want to be.
The rule of thumb I’ve heard is that you have to walk about twice as far as you’d have to run to accomplish the same thing. Start easy but push yourself. Tip: Hills can be miracle-workers as far as exercise and can reduce the amount of time you need to dedicate to exercise.
One last thing, and if this doesn’t apply to you, then good for you. But get over this stupid BS about "Oh, I’m too self-conscious to exercise because people will look at me and think or say mean things …"
You know what people will think when they see you out exercising? "Good for her. She’s outside doing something for herself instead of sitting on a couch eating Pringles and flipping channels."
Make no mistake about it, this will be the hardest thing you ever will have had to do. But don’t concentrate on how you feel while you’re doing it; keep thinking about how you’re GOING to feel when you’re done. It’s a high you’ll get no other way.
It’s all about setting incremental, attainable goals. Lose 7-10 pounds this month. Then lose 8 next month. Etc.
Good luck and godspeed.
wtf!! becarefull and ask ur b/f as alot guys would love there g/f 2 b around ur weight… as he may like a m re curvy girl, a softer butt, bigger bobs, nice belly so jst ask him if he wnt u 2 drop fair enuf but alot guys probly wnt u 2 stay.. like me
There are some good answers that have been given as well as some generic ones. But I figure you want the "skinny" on really losing weight fast. This is no joke but New Years Day 05′ I was 5′10 and 270 lbs. I was fat and miserable. Now seeing that the beginning of the year was an iconic time for change, especially for those looking to lose weight I said to myself, "no matter what, I am going to lose weight even if it means going insane from not being able to eat what I wanted." I remember one of the guys story from Body for Life when he said that he decided that if he died, it was going to be from working out, he meant to give it his all even risking death for his ultimate goal of being fit. Now I didn’t necessarily take a Body for Life approach, I like things being simple. I don’t like to cook, or buying tons of different types of foods at the grocery store, or counting calories or any of that crap. So this is what I did………….now remember, this is what you asked for, so here you have it. I went on a cereal diet and did nothing but cardio. I started off eating three bowls of Special K a day with nothing else except diet sodas and water, then eventually moved to any and every type of cereal out there. I agreed it was simply about portion control, have three bowls a day and not a hundred, and I did two hours of cardio a day. Actually I started with 30 minutes but accomplished 2 hrs. of cardio a day like so: In the morning I did an hour cardio session broken down into 2 mini 30 minute sessions with a 15 minute break in between. I went home and came back to the gym in the afternoon and did the same thing. Now if going to the gym is not feasible, then buy an elliptical machine (which by the way is the only machine I used) and do your workout at home. Then on the weekend after being totally strict with my diet and religious with my workouts I took the weekend off and ate whatever the hell I wanted (mainly homemade Hooters chicken strips with ranch sauce) and by time Monday came around, I felt ready to start eating light again. Think of the weekend as the reward you will get, and that will help you get through the week. But you have to know that weight loss will not happen overnight and you have to take it one day at a time. Now saying that, I braced myself to lose about 2 lbs. per week. Now I figured that if I lost weight at that pace that would be 104 lbs. lost in one year, but things changed…….oh, did they change, but definitely for the better! Instead of losing 2 lbs. a week, my diet and cardio plan had me losing 5 lbs. per week. I tallied it up afterwards and I was losing 20.3 lbs. per month! That’s Right! Instead of taking a year to lose 104 lbs. I lost over 80 lbs. in 4 MONTHS!!! I couldn’t have ever predicted those results. And for those who say that was alot of muscle loss, this is for you: every month my personal trainer did my bodyfat test, and every month it was significant bodyfat lost, so my muscle didnt go anywhere!!! So good luck and I hope you like my honest advice and not any of this conflicting scientist recommended bullcrap that they can never agree on. THIS IS HOW I LOST WEIGHT! If you have any questions or just need support from a fellow loser, then you can email me directly at codeazrael at yahoooooooo dot com. Good Luck! You can do it!!! By the way, I did cardio 6-7 days a week. And perhaps for better results you only want to make one weekend day your cheat day instead of two. my advice is do cardio and your diet 6 days a week and take one of your weekend days off.
i weighed 287 lbs. a year ago and i decided to join curves for women. (and it’s not as expensive as you think). i lost 31 lbs in 8 weeks. they have a class that has a very good diet and exercise program. three days a week that is all you go for. and 30 minutes each visit that’s all. and it run about $32.00 a month. that is it. good luck and i hope you find a program that is what you are looking for.
STACK is your answer. It works, guaranteed, when all other diet plans have failed. A pound of weight-loss a day is NOT uncommon with STACK. It comes with a money-back guarantee.
Try a cleansing diet! I did and lost 10.5 pounds and 17 inches in only 9 days. I was very happy with the results and continued on the program and lost 25 pounds in 5 weeks. This is the fastest I have ever lost with other diets like Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Medifast, Slimfast etc…. Cleansing works by removing toxins from your body. You get toxins from your food (pesticides, preservatives, food additives, colorings) water, chemicals, pollution, medications, alcohol, hormones that the animals you eat were fed etc….YUCK! The toxins get coated with fat and remain in your body. To remove the fat, you have to remove the toxins. This system worked for me, maybe it can work for you too. You can check out the website or call this toll free number 1-877-587-4647 for more info. The program is not cheap, but it is worth every penny since it works and keeps you motivated. Good luck!
Hi
I know it could be really frustrating ,but try this programme it really helped me so here goes,
If you are serious about losing weight, the calories in the food you eat should be less than the energy you use. You will have to increase your metabolic rate now, and plan your diet carefully.
Formulate your own weight loss plan and you will lose weight faster. More details available at http://tinyurl.com/m7ckx
Good luck
